Residents in Hiiraan rally behind SNA and local Forces in fight against Al-Shabaab militants

HIIRAAN – Residents from across the Hiiraan region have come out in full support of Somali National Army (SNA) and local community forces following a decisive military operation this morning in the village of Aboorey, where Al-Shabaab militants were repelled and their offensive neutralized.

In a powerful display of unity, the people of Moqokori district mobilized to provide urgent assistance to frontline troops. The civilian-led support included food supplies, milk, and drinking water—delivered directly to boost the morale and resilience of the forces engaged in eliminating the extremist threat.

The support effort spanned all segments of society: young schoolchildren, women, and the elderly all participated in the humanitarian drive, underscoring the region’s collective stand against Al-Shabaab’s violent campaign against the Somali people, their faith, and their homeland.

This grassroots movement reflects growing civilian solidarity and highlights the vital role local communities are playing in supporting the national fight against terrorism.
