Today, Prime Minister H.E. @HamzaAbdiBarrereceived the new Swedish Ambassador to Somalia, Joacim Waern in Mogadishu.During their meeting, they engaged in a constructive dialogue focused on the important bilateral cooperation between our nations, particularly highlighting the commendable Sweden-funded development programs in Somalia.
While welcoming Ambassador Waern to Somalia, PM Barre extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Kingdom of Sweden for its invaluable assistance to Somalia, and expressed his hope that the Ambassador would ensure proper coordination of Swedish aid in accordance with the government’s priority areas including the vital task of stabilizing the recently liberated communities in the country.
On his part, Amb. Waern sincerely thanked the Prime Minister for the warm welcome and assured him of his government’s unwavering support for Somali-led initiatives.
