Petroleum Minister Briefs Parliament Committee on African Mining Strategy Charter

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia held a meeting with the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, H.E. Dahir Shire Mohamed.

The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee of the House of the People, MP Aweys Hussein Moallin. It was also attended by MP Abbaas Ali Ibrahim and the Secretary-General of the House of the People, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdulle (Jaabiri).

The discussions focused on the Charter establishing the African Mining Strategy Group. The Committee and the Ministry agreed to expedite work on the Charter and engage specialised experts to support its preparation before it is submitted to the Standing Committee of the House of the People.
