Mogadishu (SONNA) — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has sent a message of condolence following the death of prominent Somali businessman Mohamed Farah Jiis.
In his statement, the President extended his sympathies to the family, relatives, and the wider Somali community, describing the late Farah Jiis as a key figure among Somalia’s business leaders.
President Mohamud noted that the deceased played a significant role in efforts to strengthen peace, rebuild state institutions, and support the country’s economic development. He praised Mohamed Farah for his patriotism, dedication, and consistent contributions to Somali society.
“The Somali people, especially his family, are deeply saddened by the loss of Mohamed Farah Jiis, a patriotic businessman who devoted his resources to peacebuilding, national reconstruction, social cohesion, and strengthening Somali statehood,” the President said.
The President prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased and asked for patience and faith for his family and the Somali people during this difficult time.
