Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has congratulated Abdulqadir Ahmed Aw-Cali and his Deputy, Abdirashid Yusuf Jibril, on their election as the new leadership of the North Eastern State of Somalia.
The President commended the maturity demonstrated by the State Parliament, its leadership, and the presidential candidates during the electoral process, and prayed for success in enabling the new leadership to shoulder the heavy responsibilities ahead.
“I wish President Abdulqadir Ahmed Aw-Cali and his Deputy, Abdirashid Yusuf Jibril, to be leaders who unite the people of North Eastern State and advance peace, development, and governance. The Federal Government of Somalia stands ready to support the state in jointly completing the federalization process,” the President stated.
He further urged the people and the new leadership of North Eastern State to uphold unity, solidarity, and cooperation in order to overcome existing challenges and achieve sustainable progress.
