Mogadishu, (SONNA) – On behalf of the people and government of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud congratulates H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf on his election as Chairperson of the African Union Commission. Somalia looks forward to working closely with the new Chairperson to advance the shared goals of peace, security, and development across the continent.
The President also extends his gratitude to the outgoing Chairperson, H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat, for his dedicated leadership and service to Africa. Somalia reaffirms its unwavering support for the African Union, recognizing its vital role in promoting unity, stability, and progress for the people of Africa.
