Bariire, 8 Aug 2025 – Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) carried out a targeted operation last night in the Bariire area of the Lower Shabelle region, aimed at dismantling a terror cell linked to the Al-Shabaab militant group.
The raid specifically targeted a house where senior Al-Shabaab commanders had been planning terrorist attacks in recent days. According to initial reports, the operation inflicted heavy losses on the group, with several high-ranking operatives confirmed dead.
