MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Chairman of the National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (NIEBC), Mr. Abdikarim Ahmed Hassan, accompanied by Deputy Chairman Mr. Sadiq Abshir Garad, conducted a strategic inspection today of the central facility where election materials are being processed. The visit marks the final phase of preparations for the highly anticipated Local Council elections scheduled for December 25.
Speaking to the press at the logistics hub, Chairman Abdikarim confirmed that all essential electoral equipment has been fully assembled and prepared. He announced that the distribution process is now underway, with materials being deployed to designated polling stations across the capital to ensure a seamless voting experience for the public.
The Chairman utilized the occasion to issue a strong directive to the residents of Mogadishu. He urged all eligible citizens to collect their voting cards prior to the election date, emphasizing that holding a card is the primary prerequisite for participating in the Benadir regional council vote.
