Mogadishu(SONNA)-The Director General of Mogadishu International Port, Amb.Mohamed Ali Nur (Americo), held an official meeting in Abu Dhabi with the Regional CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group for Africa, Mr. Mohamed Eidha Al Menhali, to discuss strategic plans for the development of Mogadishu Port and its expanding role in regional trade.
The discussions focused on port modernization, infrastructure expansion, and opportunities for investment and technical cooperation aimed at improving operational efficiency, increasing productivity, and supporting sustainable trade growth.
Ambassador Mohamed Ali Nur stated that the meeting reflects ongoing efforts to upgrade Mogadishu Port in line with international standards. He emphasized the importance of transforming the port into a modern logistics hub capable of supporting Somalia’s economic development and strengthening trade links across the Horn of Africa.
Both sides underscored the value of cooperation in enhancing port services and facilitating regional connectivity, highlighting Mogadishu Port’s strategic location along key maritime trade routes.
