Zanzibar, (SONNA) – The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, Daud Awies Jama attended the funeral and condolence even representing President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in honor of the former President of Tanzania, Al Hajji Ali Hassan Mwingi in Zanzibar Island.
Honorable Mwingi was the second President of Tanzania from 1985 to 1995 and has passed away on the 29th of February 2024.
The Minister sent his condolences on behalf of President Mohamud to the Government, people and particularly the families of the former president.
“Representing President Hassan Sheikh, I attended in the funeral and condolence event honoring the late 2nd President of Tanzania, Al Haji Ali Hassan Mwinyi, who passed away on Thursday. I conveyed condolences from President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to President Samia S. Hassan and the people of Tanzania,” Minister Aweis said.
