Both officials discussed the importance of aligning communication efforts between the Federal Government of Somalia and UN agencies to ensure the public receives accurate, timely, and reliable information, especially during emergencies and humanitarian crises.
Minister Daud reaffirmed the Ministry’s readiness to strengthen collaboration, with particular emphasis on delivering critical messages to rural and remote communities to improve public access to information and raise awareness among vulnerable populations.
The meeting also explored ways to build media capacity, including training journalists on reporting during emergencies, and enhancing coordination between government institutions and UN agencies on communication and public awareness programs.
