Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia, HE Ahmed Moalim Fiqi said that the elections of the District Commissioners of the Banadir Administration will kick off on the 30th of June next year, and the public will have the rights to choose their leaders.
The people in Banadir region will have the right to choose their district commissioners in all the 18 district.
Minister Fiqi said that the government wants the people of Banadir to past the land conflicts and reach the point where they be responsible enough to elect their own leaders who will be accountable for them.
“We expect the people of Banadir region to elect their district Commissioner who will be accountable for them and their council members as well, so that they are represented”, he added.
The Minister asked the people to be ready to elect their leaders and end the conflicts of land that has disrupted the peace of the people.
