In a joint operation conducted today at approximately 6:15 PM, a precise airstrike targeted a high-level meeting of senior Al-Shabaab leaders. The operation, carried out by the Somali National Army in coordination with international partners, aimed to disrupt the activities of the extremist group.

The location of the airstrike was approximately 14 kilometers away from Jamaame District in Lower Juba. The strategic decision to strike at this particular meeting was based on credible intelligence gathered by security forces.

The commander of the 43rd Brigade of the Somali National Army has confirmed the successful execution of the operation. Preliminary reports indicate heavy casualties among the Al-Shabaab militants present at the meeting. However, detailed information regarding the exact number of casualties and the extent of the damage is still being assessed.

This joint operation highlights the strong collaboration between the Somali National Army and its international partners in the ongoing fight against terrorism. Such operations are crucial for maintaining security, eradicating extremist elements, and fostering stability in the region.

Further updates on the operation, including additional information on the impact of the airstrike, will be provided as soon as official statements are released. The Somali National Army and its partners remain committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the people by relentlessly targeting and neutralizing threats posed by Al-Shabaab and other terrorist organizations.
