Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of Hirshabelle State, Ali Gudlawe Hussein, who is currently on the frontlines of the ongoing offensive, has awarded members of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) and a local community fighter for successfully capturing a live Al-Shabaab operative.
In a recognition ceremony held near the combat zone, President Gudlawe presented a $2,000 cash reward to a NISA officer and an AK-47 rifle to a local community member who played a key role in the operation.
The captured militant was apprehended in a location previously controlled by Al-Shabaab and was handed over to the relevant security agencies for investigation and legal processing.
President Gudlawe praised the bravery and vigilance of both the national forces and local fighters, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in defeating terrorism and restoring lasting peace across Hirshabelle.
