Beledweyne (SONNA): In a major operation, the National Security and Intelligence Agency (NSIA) has successfully dismantled 16 roadblocks set up by armed groups along the road linking Beledweyne and Matabaan, spanning the Hiran and Galgaduud regions.

The meticulously planned operation resulted in the arrest of several armed militants, while others managed to flee from their positions. The peaceful conclusion of the operation marks a significant victory for the security forces.

The operation was carried out at key checkpoints in Elgaal, Kalabeyr, and Matabaan, areas that have recently been plagued by banditry, causing distress and danger to travelers on the central region roads.

Commander Osman Abdi Waasuge, head of the National Security and Intelligence Agency and the Anti-Brigadier Group, announced that the armed groups responsible for the recent spate of robberies and violence on these roads have been effectively neutralized. He assured the public that these criminal activities have been brought to an end, and the roads are now safer for travelers.

This successful operation is a prove to the commitment and efficiency of the Somali security forces in maintaining peace and order in the region. The local communities can now expect a safer and more secure environment as they go about their daily activities.
