Beijing – (SONNA) – The Diplomats Sports Festival 2023 was held at Beijing Sport University, attracting diplomats from various countries. The festival served as a platform for friendly exchanges, enhancing mutual understanding and friendship among diplomatic missions in Beijing.
His Excellency, Mr. Awale Ali Kullane, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the People’s Republic of China, graced the opening ceremony with his presence. Ambassador Kullane spoke passionately about sports’ role in cultural exchange and international relations. His remarks impressed the audience, emphasizing Somalia’s commitment to such events to strengthen diplomatic ties.
The festival’s main highlight was the futsal tournament, featuring 16 teams representing different diplomatic missions. Somali diplomats competed in teams. The Somali team showed great sportsmanship, teamwork, and skill throughout the matches.
The Diplomats Sports Festival 2023 successfully promoted sports diplomacy and cultural exchange. Somali diplomats actively contributed to the event’s positive atmosphere, strengthening Somalia’s ties to Beijing’s diplomatic community.
