Minnesota, U.S(SONNA)-As the event of hero awards celeberation gets prepared, Some of Somalia diaspora intellectuals encouraged, the idea of promoting social hardworking figures from Somalia around the world, by volunteers of Somalia based in minnesota, for the iam of giving support for their role in other societies.
The Executive director of Somali Hero Awards initiative Hassan Isak told SONNA that, Preparation of holding hero awards event is underway, while individuals who inspire their communities to attend the celebration set to be launching on December 2025.
This SOHA event will unite Somalis from around the globe, especially those involved in community service, to pay tribute to the heroes who have fought for the nation.
The awards will be presented online, enabling the community to vote for deserving candidates at somaliheroawards.com. Dignitaries and honored guests from the organization will also join the celebration.
Mr. Ali Gaashaan, the founder of VOS and president of the Somali Hero Awards, shared with Somalia National News agency that the awards aim to honor deserving individuals who have made significant contributions.
The Somali Hero Awards will be an annual event, highlighting individuals who have achieved notable success and made a positive impact in their communities.
The organization VOS, based in Minnesota, has dedicated the past 15 years to community development and engagement. In late 2025, it introduced the Somali Hero Awards (SOHA) to recognize and celebrate individuals who inspire their communities.
