JOHANNESBURG (SONNA) — Executing a targeted diplomatic mission to strengthen transnational links, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Mohamed Ali (Nadara), arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa, today. This deployment follows an official, formal invitation from the deeply established Somali diaspora community operating within the country.
The Deputy Minister is leading an executive delegation, accompanied by the Director of the Somali Diaspora Department, Mr. Ibrahim Guure Mohamed, and the Department’s Senior Advisor, Mr. Abdisalam Yusuf Adan. The delegation was formally received at O.R. Tambo International Airport by the Acting Ambassador and Deputy Head of Mission to South Africa, H.E. Ismail Abdulle Somane, alongside senior embassy diplomats.
This strategic deployment is strictly focused on optimizing the relationship between the Federal Government and the powerful diaspora network in South Africa. The scheduled executive engagements will prioritize upgrading direct state services provided to Somali nationals abroad, formalizing channels for diaspora investment, and leveraging their massive economic footprint to drive national development and advance Mogadishu’s broader international cooperation objectives.
