Mogadishu, Somalia – The Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Somalia, Abdirahman Sheikh Yusuf Al-Adaala, has emphasized the critical role of citizen responsibility and cooperation with security agencies in maintaining the safety and security of Somali cities. Speaking at a recent meeting focused on the nation’s electoral process, Minister Al-Adaala strongly asserted that the level of security within urban centers is directly linked to the active participation of residents in safeguarding their communities.

Minister Al-Adaala highlighted that security is not solely the purview of government forces but rather a collaborative endeavor involving both the community and state entities. He elaborated on this point by referencing instances in various cities where close collaboration between citizens and security agencies has yielded significant improvements in the overall security landscape. This partnership, he noted, has been instrumental in proactively addressing potential threats and fostering a more secure environment for all inhabitants.

Drawing upon these positive examples, Mr. Al-Adaala urged the Somali populace to embrace unity, maintain vigilance, and actively engage with security personnel. He conveyed his conviction that through collective effort and a shared sense of responsibility, every city across Somalia has the potential to become a safe and secure place for its residents. The minister’s remarks underscore the government’s recognition of the vital contribution of ordinary citizens in the ongoing efforts to stabilize and secure the nation.
