Mogadishu, Somalia – July 10, 2025 – Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), the Governor of Banaadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, participated in a public awareness event in Dayniile District, emphasizing the vital importance of community participation in the voter registration process for the upcoming “one person, one vote” elections.

During the gathering, Mayor Muungaab provided the Dayniile community with an in-depth explanation of the administration’s ongoing initiatives. These efforts include comprehensive reforms of public administration and financial systems, bolstering transparency, accelerating development projects, rebuilding essential infrastructure, promoting accountability, and advancing democratic processes and elections.

Governor Muungaab lauded the residents of Dayniile District for their leading role in the nation-building endeavors, particularly their proactive engagement in voter registration and other democratic activities. His address reflects the administration’s commitment to empowering citizens through democratic participation and ensuring a transparent and fair electoral process.

The event highlights the continuous push by the Banaadir regional administration to engage directly with communities and encourage their active involvement in shaping the future governance of Mogadishu and, by extension, Somalia.
