Arusha, (SONNA) – The Ambassador the Federal Republic of Somalia to Tanzania and the East Africa Community (EAC), H.E Ilyas Ali Hassan said that Somalia welcomes the regional leaders’ efforts to maintain peace, security, and stability in the Horn of Africa (HoA), but its position remains unchanged: unless the January 1, 2024, illegal MoU is declared null and void, Somalia’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity must be respected.
“Somalia welcomes the regional leaders’ efforts to maintain peace, security, and stability in the HoA. However, its position remains unchanged: unless the January 1, 2024, MoU is declared null and void and Somalia’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity must be respected,” Amb. Ilyas said on his X platform.
