BAIDOA (SONNA) — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, alongside a high-level executive delegation, arrived today in Baidoa, the interim capital of the South West State. The President received a massive, coordinated welcome from the Interim Leader of the South West State, the Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament, various federal and state-level officials, and hundreds of local citizens.
This executive deployment to Baidoa is explicitly designed to accelerate the delivery of critical public services, fortify regional peace and reconciliation, and advance the national democratization process. Furthermore, the presidential agenda prioritizes immediate coordination regarding drought relief operations and the continued modernization of state governance structures.
During this strategic visit, President Hassan Sheikh will execute a series of high-level consultations with the interim state leadership, traditional elders, commanders of the Armed Forces and Darawish units, and civil society representatives. These engagements focus strictly on the aggressive fortification of regional security, the continuous expansion of public services, and the rigid implementation of the universal “One Person, One Vote” electoral model. These operational initiatives directly secure the Somali people’s fundamental objectives of absolute peace, permanent stability, and sustained national development.
