Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Ministry of Health and Human Services of the Federal Government of Somalia has released preliminary casualty figures from the security incidents that occurred in Mogadishu between 3 and 4 June 2026.
According to data collected from hospitals and health facilities across the capital that received and treated victims of the incidents, a total of 56 casualties were recorded, including:
- 55 injured
- 1 fatality
The ministry extended its condolences to the family and relatives of the individual who lost their life and wished a swift recovery to all those injured.
It also commended healthcare workers, emergency response teams, and medical facilities for their efforts in providing urgent treatment and saving lives during the incidents.
The Ministry of Health reaffirmed its commitment to collecting, verifying, and disseminating accurate and reliable information, particularly during emergencies and incidents that affect public health.
Furthermore, the ministry urged government institutions, media outlets, and other stakeholders to exercise responsibility and caution when reporting on deaths, injuries, and emergency situations, stressing the importance of ensuring that all information released to the public is factual, verified, and reflective of the actual situation on the ground.
