Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) on Tuesday issued an urgent warning to communities in the Bari and Nugaal regions, particularly in the districts of Hafuun, Eyl, Dangoroyo, Bandarbayla, Qardho and Garowe, over a strong thunderstorm expected from May 12 to May 17, 2026.
According to weather forecasts, the storm could bring heavy rainfall, strong winds, lightning and flash floods, with possible disruptions to maritime transport and fishing activities along the coast.
