Mogadishu (SONNA) — Somalia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Hassan Mohamed Ali, on Monday welcomed the United Nations’ Deputy Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Tom Fletcher, upon his arrival at Aden Adde International Airport.
The reception was attended by the Commissioner of the Somalia Disaster Management Agency, Mr. Mahmoud Moalim Abdulle. The visiting delegation is expected to engage in high-level discussions focused on Somalia’s pressing humanitarian needs, efforts to strengthen aid delivery, and mobilization of funding.
Mr. Fletcher’s visit to Somalia is scheduled to run from April 27 to May 1, during which he is also expected to travel to Baidoa to assess the humanitarian situation on the ground.
