Masagawaay (SONNA) — Residents and local authorities in Masagawaay town, Galcad district, are turning out in large numbers at voter registration centers following the official launch of the process for one-person, one-vote elections.
The National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission today formally inaugurated the voter registration exercise in Masagawaay, marking a key step in efforts to advance Somalia’s democratic system.
The launch event was officiated by the Galcad District Commissioner, Osman Arif, alongside Masagawaay administration officials. The leaders also registered themselves at the centers and encouraged residents to actively participate in the electoral process.
Members of the local community from various sectors have shown strong engagement in the registration exercise, expressing enthusiasm and readiness to take part in the upcoming direct elections.
The Galcad district administration has called on residents to register in large numbers to ensure they play an active role in electing their leaders and strengthening the country’s democratic governance.
