Mogadishu (SONNA) — The Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (Fartaag), held a key meeting with Switzerland’s Ambassador to Somalia, Mirko Giulietti, in Mogadishu.
The talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of security, stabilization, and institutional development. Both sides discussed national priorities, including enhancing overall security cooperation, counterterrorism efforts, and improving the capacity of security institutions.
A major focus of the meeting was expanding joint efforts to combat terrorism. The officials highlighted the importance of increased collaboration in intelligence sharing, security force training, and technical support to counter threats facing the country.
Minister Fartaag thanked Switzerland for its continued support, noting that the partnership plays an important role in promoting peace, stability, and national development in Somalia.
