Baidoa(SONNA)-The Somali Disaster Management Agency, working alongside the South West State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, has successfully completed the second day of food aid distribution in Baidoa, delivering critical assistance to communities impacted by severe drought.
During today’s operation, 520 vulnerable families received essential food supplies, with priority given to persons with disabilities and other high-risk groups facing acute food shortages.
The distribution was overseen by Commissioner Mahamud Moallim, who monitored the process to ensure transparency and effective delivery of aid.
This ongoing intervention reflects continued efforts by Somali authorities to respond to the worsening drought crisis, which has left many households struggling to meet basic needs. Officials emphasized the importance of sustained humanitarian support to mitigate the impact and protect the most vulnerable populations.
