Baidoa, (SONNA) — The Interim Leader of South West State, H.E. Jibriil Cabdirashiid Xaaji, received the Commissioner of the National Disaster Management Agency (SODMA), Mr. Mahamud Moallin Abdulle, at the Presidential Palace in Baidoa.
The meeting focused on the ongoing drought conditions affecting parts of South West State. The leader was briefed on the severity of the drought, its impact on local communities, and current efforts to deliver urgent humanitarian assistance to those affected.
The SODMA Commissioner reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to accelerating relief operations and outlined plans to strengthen the delivery of emergency humanitarian aid aimed at reducing the effects of the drought.
Jibriil Cabdirashiid Xaaji emphasized the importance of enhanced coordination between government institutions and humanitarian organizations to ensure timely and effective assistance reaches vulnerable populations.
The meeting was also attended by ministers from the Planning and Humanitarian Affairs ministries, as well as a senior advisor on humanitarian issues from the Office of the President.
