Mogadishu (SONNA) — The Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia has officially announced that the country is entering a new phase of inclusive and transparent elections grounded in the rule of law.
The Ministry stated that elections are a constitutional right of every citizen and play a vital role in strengthening public trust, enhancing transparency, and ensuring meaningful public participation in choosing representatives across all levels of government.
It further emphasized that the electoral process will be direct, free, and fair, guided by democratic principles, accountability, and the protection of citizens’ rights.
The Ministry also confirmed that all institutions responsible for overseeing the process will soon carry out their duties in accordance with national laws.
In conclusion, the Federal Government of Somalia reiterated its commitment to strengthening state-building, advancing democracy, and implementing a credible and transparent electoral system.
