Mogadishu, SONNA — Karaan District has secured third place in the Annual Ramadan Quiz Competition after defeating Bulo-Burde District with a score of 16 points to 10 in a closely contested match.
The victory highlights Karaan’s strong performance in the nationwide competition, which continues to showcase the knowledge and intellectual capabilities of youth across Somalia.
This year marks the sixteenth edition of the Ramadan Quiz Competition, an initiative organized annually by the Somali National Media to promote education, critical thinking, and academic excellence among young people.
The competition is jointly supported by IBS Bank and the Banadir Regional Administration, reflecting a collaborative effort to invest in youth development and learning.
The program is broadcast every night throughout the holy month of Ramadan on the Somali National Broadcasting Service, with live coverage on National Television and Radio Mogadishu, enabling audiences across the country to follow the competition.
Each year, 32 districts from across Somalia’s regions take part in the contest. The district that emerges as the overall winner receives trophies, cash prizes, and certificates recognizing the achievements and knowledge demonstrated by the new generation of Somali youth.
