Mogadishu (SONNA): A gathering to welcome the completion of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Somalia was held at the National Theatre in Mogadishu, attended by government officials and women representatives from various districts of the capital.
During the event, participants widely praised the milestone achieved in finalizing the Constitution, which had remained incomplete for many years. The women who attended the gathering thanked the government for its efforts in completing the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
Some of the officials and women who spoke at the event told Somali National Media that they were pleased with the completion of the Constitution, commending the Federal Government for fulfilling its commitment to finalize and approve the country’s constitution.
Member of Parliament Zaynab Aamir said, “The Parliament I am part of approved the Constitution with full satisfaction.”
Similarly, Anab, a member of the Galmudug Parliament, stated, “The Constitution we had always heard described as provisional has now been completed, and we thank the government for that.”
Since members of both Houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia approved the completion of the Constitution by majority vote, congratulations and commendations from Somali citizens toward the government have continued to grow, recognizing the efforts made to ensure the country has a finalized and official constitution.
