Mogadishu (SONNA) – The Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdullahi Bidhaan Warsame, on Sunday inspected the site of a newly drilled water well intended to supply the ministry’s headquarters.
During the visit, the minister received briefings from engineers overseeing the project, focusing on the technical aspects and overall progress of the well construction.
The new well forms part of the ministry’s efforts to secure a reliable and independent water supply for its facilities while reducing operational costs related to water services.
The minister also reviewed a recently installed solar power system at the ministry’s headquarters, which is designed to generate clean and continuous electricity while reducing reliance on other energy sources.
Officials say the projects reflect the ministry’s broader efforts to promote self-sufficiency, efficiency, and sustainable solutions. The initiatives are also part of preparations for the official inauguration of the ministry’s headquarters, scheduled to take place after the holy month of Ramadan.
