Mogadishu, SONNA – H.E. Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdisalam Ali, received H.E. Ambassador Moussa Djama Ali, IGAD Special Envoy for South Sudan, at his office to discuss strategies for advancing regional peace and cooperation.
During the meeting, Ambassador Moussa Djama Ali congratulated Somalia on its election to the African Union Peace and Security Council, highlighting the country’s significant contributions to continental peace and security. He also recognized Somalia’s support for South Sudan’s stability and economic progress, particularly through their shared membership in the East African Community (EAC).
Minister Abdisalam Ali reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to promoting peace across the region and pledged to strengthen coordination with IGAD and other regional partners to advance shared security and development objectives.
The meeting underscores Somalia’s proactive role in fostering regional stability and collaboration within the Horn of Africa.
