Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Fisheries and Blue Economy of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Hassan Aden, today held a key meeting in Mogadishu with Dr. Andrew Mold, Director for East Africa at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
The discussions focused on advancing Somalia’s blue economy agenda and strengthening cooperation between the Ministry and UNECA. The two sides also reviewed progress on the Blue Economy Valuation Study and explored the implementation of the Blue Economy Valuation Toolkit (BEVTK).
The meeting underscored the importance of evidence-based approaches to assessing the value of Somalia’s marine resources and promoting sustainable development, investment, and growth within the country’s blue economy sector.
