Adis Ababa, SONNA — The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Abdisalam Ali, has arrived in Addis Ababa to participate in the 39th African Union (AU) Summit and its accompanying ministerial meetings, which are set to commence tomorrow at the AU Headquarters.
During the Summit, Minister Abdisalam Ali is expected to engage in a series of bilateral meetings with African counterparts and international partners on the sidelines of the gathering. These discussions will focus on advancing Somalia’s priorities, including peace and security, regional cooperation, and sustainable development.
This year’s African Union Summit is being held under the theme “Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063.” The theme underscores the central role of water security and sanitation in driving Africa’s resilience, public health, and long-term economic prosperity.
Somalia’s participation in the Summit reflects its continued commitment to strengthening continental cooperation and contributing to collective African efforts aimed at achieving the aspirations of Agenda 2063.
