Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Gorgor Commando Force of the Somali National Army (SNA) has carried out clearance operations in bushland areas north of Jabad-Godane in the Middle Shabelle region.
During the operation, troops seized weapons and ammunition abandoned by Al-Shabaab terrorists—locally referred to by authorities as Khawaarij—who fled while being pursued by government forces.
The commander of the SNA’s 171st Battalion, Abdullahi Mustafa Ali, known as “Timaha-Weyne,” said security forces continue to conduct operations in the area. He added that troops have discovered bodies and additional weapons left behind by Al-Shabaab terrorists who were misled and abandoned as they retreated into the bush.
