Ankara (SONNA) — A delegation of auditors from the Office of the Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia (FGS) is participating in a professional study and capacity-building program in Ankara, the capital of Türkiye. The program is part of a cooperative initiative between the Office of the Auditor General of Somalia and the Turkish Court of Accounts, and will run for one week.
The program was officially inaugurated by senior officials from both the Turkish Court of Accounts and the Office of the Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
Representatives from the two institutions emphasized the importance of cooperation between Supreme Audit Institutions, highlighting experience-sharing and knowledge exchange as essential to strengthening the quality and effectiveness of public auditing.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Deputy Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Abdijamaal Ismail Mohamed, expressed his appreciation to the Turkish Court of Accounts and the Government of Türkiye for their continued support and productive partnership with Somalia’s Office of the Auditor General. He noted that the training will directly contribute to improving audit investigations and enhancing the protection of public resources.
