Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, held high-level meetings on Saturday evening in Jeddah with his counterparts from Sudan, Kuwait, and Palestine on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), convened to discuss developments related to the Federal Republic of Somalia.
During these meetings, the ministers addressed Israel’s illegitimate recognition of the so-called “Somaliland” in northwestern Somalia. They firmly rejected any actions undermining Somalia’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, emphasizing that such moves are unacceptable under international law.
H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali and his counterparts underlined the importance of upholding international legal principles while expressing their full support for all efforts aimed at safeguarding Somalia’s national cohesion and stability. The discussions reflected a shared commitment among the OIC member states to defend Somalia’s sovereignty and to ensure continued peace and security across the country.
