AMMAN, Jordan – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has affirmed its absolute support for the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia. In a decisive statement issued regarding the recent diplomatic escalation, Amman expressed its complete rejection of the announced mutual recognition between Israel and the Somaliland region.
The Ministry characterized the recognition as a “flagrant violation” of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. By attempting to legitimize a separatist administration, the statement argued, the action constitutes a clear infringement upon the sovereignty of the brotherly Federal Republic of Somalia. The Kingdom emphasized that respecting national borders is non-negotiable and that such diplomatic maneuvers fundamentally contradict the established global legal order.
The Official Spokesperson for the Ministry, Ambassador Fuad Al-Majali, highlighted the Kingdom’s absolute refusal of any attempts to impose “parallel entities” that threaten the cohesion of the Somali state. He stated that Jordan stands firmly behind the legitimate state institutions of Somalia, prioritizing the stability and security of the brotherly Somali people. His remarks made it clear that Amman views the preservation of Mogadishu’s authority over its entire territory as essential for regional peace.
Ambassador Al-Majali concluded by declaring that Jordan rejects any procedures aimed at fragmenting Somalia’s unity or compromising its national security. The statement reinforces the Kingdom’s commitment to shielding Somalia from external interference and ensuring that its political independence remains intact against what it termed illegitimate measures.
