Mogadishu (SONNA):— The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Maxamuud Macalin Cabdulle, today received a high-level delegation from Plan International, led by the Regional Director for the Middle East, Eastern Africa, and Southern Africa, Ms. Angela Muriithi.
During their meeting at SoDMA headquarters, both sides discussed forecasts of the looming drought, strengthening cooperation between the two institutions, and enhancing early warning systems and community-level rapid response mechanisms.
The two parties also agreed to accelerate preparedness measures, improve information-sharing and dissemination of early warnings, and develop proposals aimed at expanding their partnership in line with national disaster management priorities.
Both sides further emphasized the importance of reinforcing their strategic relationship to effectively address emergency situations and create opportunities for joint action.
