Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Chairperson of the National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, Mr. Abdikarim Ahmed Hassan, has announced the official schedule for the local council elections in the Banaadir region.
Speaking at a press briefing held at the Commission’s headquarters, Chairman Abdikarim underlined that residents of the Banaadir region will head to the polls on the 25th of the coming month to elect their local council representatives through a one-person, one-vote process.
“On the 25th of next month, the Banaadir region will go to the polls for a one-person, one-vote election,” Chairman Abdikarim Ahmed Hassan stated.
Political parties contesting the Banaadir local council elections have intensified their campaigns as they seek the support of voters ahead of polling day.
