Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today hosted at the Presidential Palace Somali international referee Omar Abdulkadir Artan, who was recently crowned Africa’s Best Referee of 2025 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
President Hassan Sheikh congratulated Referee Artan once again on this historic achievement, noting that the award reflects his professionalism, dedication, and the exceptional effort he has invested in advancing his refereeing career. The President emphasized that Artan’s success elevates Somalia’s name globally and expressed confidence that he will continue to reach even higher levels on the international stage.
For his part, Referee Omar thanked the President for the warm reception and recognition, stating that the honor motivates him to continue representing Somalia with excellence in global sporting arenas.
