Mogadishu (SONNA): The Somali National Army (SNA) has conducted a planned operation targeting Al-Shabaab militants in the Lower Shabelle region. The operation, which took place in villages near the Janale district, was carried out by the 144th and 145th units of the 14th October Brigade.
Lieutenant Colonel Abdirahim Mohamed Munye, the commander of the 14th October Brigade, confirmed that the forces focused on specific targets used by the militants. The operation successfully destroyed boats that the militants used to cross the river. Additionally, the forces demolished locations where the militants collected extortion money from local farmers.
The operation was conducted in the villages of Malable, Beeraha Baay, Siigaale Bari, and Doonkaa-daafeedow, all of which are under the jurisdiction of the Janale district.
