Mogadishu, Somalia – The Cabinet of Ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia, led by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, held its weekly meeting today and approved two significant pieces of legislation aimed at enhancing public service and national development. The approved draft laws are for the establishment of a Higher Institute of Legal Affairs and a Milk Safety Law.

The approval of these draft laws marks a step toward strengthening state institutions and ensuring public health and safety. The Higher Institute of Legal Affairs is intended to provide advanced legal training and expertise to support the country’s legal and governance systems. Meanwhile, the Milk Safety Law is a critical measure designed to regulate the production and distribution of milk, ensuring it meets safety standards for consumers.

In addition to approving the legislation, the cabinet meeting addressed several pressing national issues. Ministers reviewed a range of reports on reforms and the increase of domestic revenue, a key focus for the government’s economic agenda. They also discussed the security situation in the capital, Mogadishu, and the ongoing implementation of the Arms Control Law.

The discussions also covered other matters considered essential for good governance, the protection of human rights, and the overall development of the country. This weekly cabinet meeting reaffirms the government’s commitment to institutional building, economic self-sufficiency, and maintaining peace and stability.
