Mogadishu (SONNA) — The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, today laid the foundation stone for the new headquarters of the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Higher Learning, a modern facility set to play a key role in advancing the country’s education sector.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Hamza emphasized that rebuilding the Ministry’s headquarters reflects the government’s commitment to improving public services and nurturing Somali children, as the Ministry of Education remains one of the nation’s most critical institutions.
“The DanQaran Government has invested heavily in strengthening education, modernizing the entire system from primary to higher education,” he said. “We have established the Higher Education Council to ensure advanced university learning, and we are determined to provide Somali children with quality knowledge and skills.”
The Prime Minister highlighted the Ministry’s central role in safeguarding the country’s most valuable asset—its youth—and stressed the government’s duty to create conducive learning environments across the nation.
He also commended officials of the Ministry of Education for their ongoing efforts to improve services, protect student data, and modernize educational management systems, all of which contribute to building a stronger foundation for Somalia’s future.
