DUBLIN, IRELAND – The Secretary-General of the National Health Professions Council of Somalia, Mr. Mohamed Addow, represented the nation at the 16th International Conference of the International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities (IAMRA), held in Dublin, Ireland. This significant event, hosted by the Medical Council of Ireland, brought together global experts to address the complex challenges and advancements in medical regulation worldwide.

The conference provided a vital platform for participants to exchange international experiences on the governance of healthcare professionals, with a focus on enhancing healthcare systems and fostering public confidence in medical services. Topics discussed ranged from licensing and professional standards to ethical practices and the integration of new technologies in patient care.

Somalia’s participation in this high-level forum is a key step towards its integration into the global healthcare community. For a country actively rebuilding its institutions, this conference offers an invaluable opportunity to learn from the expertise and best practices of more developed nations. By engaging in these international discussions, Somalia can better equip itself to create a robust and high-quality healthcare system that meets global standards.

This engagement is not merely about gaining knowledge; it is a collaborative effort to contribute to and learn from international initiatives aimed at improving healthcare systems globally. Mr. Addow’s presence signals Somalia’s commitment to strengthening its own health sector and ensuring its medical professionals are regulated to the highest international standards. The insights gained from the conference are expected to play a crucial role in shaping Somalia’s national health policies and regulatory frameworks, ultimately contributing to a healthier and more secure future for its citizens.
