Yinchuan, China (SONNA) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, has concluded a significant visit to the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base, located in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. He was accompanied by Somalia’s Ambassador to China, Ambassador Hodan Osman. This base is recognized as a critical development zone and a leading hub for industrial and energy transformation in China.
The primary objective of the visit was for Somalia to gain insights from Ningxia’s expertise in creating diverse energy-generating industries, fostering industrial development, and transitioning to clean energy. This initiative aligns with Somalia’s ongoing efforts to implement its National Transformation Plan.
Prime Minister Barre praised Ningxia as a compelling example of how industrial and energy development can be achieved through a clear and sustainable policy framework. He emphasized that the lessons and experiences gathered from Ningxia could unlock crucial avenues for cooperation, leading to tangible progress in Somalia’s energy, industrial, and economic sectors.
“Somalia aspires to build a modern energy sector, create new industrial opportunities, and accelerate job creation for the nation’s youth, who are the backbone of our future. This will be achieved through leveraging advanced technology and foreign investment,” stated Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre. The presence of Ambassador Hodan Osman emphasized the diplomatic importance of the visit and the strong ties between Somalia and China in pursuing these development goals.
