Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, H.E. Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madobe), today received in his office the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia, James Swan.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the House of the People and the United Nations Office in Somalia. The Special Representative briefed the Speaker on the activities and priorities of the UN in the country.
Speaker Madobe commended the strong partnership between the Federal Parliament and the United Nations, expressing gratitude for the UN’s consistent support to the Somali people and government. He further encouraged the UN to continue and expand its assistance to Somalia.
