Washington, (SONNA) — The Federal Government of Somalia has reaffirmed its role as a key security partner of the United States, working closely with President Trump and the U.S. military to combat ISIS and Al-Shabaab.
In 2025 alone, Somali and U.S. forces have carried out more than twenty successful joint operations, reflecting unprecedented coordination compared to previous years. Somali authorities emphasize that terrorist groups gain ground only when the country’s unity and territorial integrity are undermined.
Officials warn that any policy weakening Somali sovereignty would embolden extremists and threaten the stability of the entire Horn of Africa. The Somali government reiterated its commitment to defending national sovereignty, preserving unity, and ensuring regional peace and security.
